Delta Air Lines executive vice president of marketing Robert Coggin and senior vice president of personnel Robert Adams announced their retirements, the latest in a series of changes in Delta's management that included the replacements of CEO Ron Allen by Leo Mullin (<I>BTN</I>, May 19, 1997) and CFO Thomas Roeck by former NBC CFO Warren Jenson.

Coggin, 61, had been with Delta for 42 years and had a major impact on the airline's philosophies and practices in travel agency and corporate relations. He will continue to serve Delta as a consultant on global alliances, an area in which Delta said "he has played a particularly important role." Until the airline finds a successor, Coggin's duties will be divided up among Vince Caminiti, senior vice president of sales and international, Paul Matsen, senior vice president of corporate planning and information technology and Mark Drusch, vice president of market development.
