Avis Budget Group reported a $280 million third-quarter net profit, up from $82 million for the same period last year.
The company reported a year-over-year revenue increase of 34 percent "primarily due to the acquisition of Avis Europe." In North America, rental car revenue increased 2 percent year over year, with a 4 percent increase in volume and a 3 percent decline in pricing.
