Alaska Air Group on Thursday reported its fourth-quarter net income as $148 million,

compared with $78 million in the fourth quarter of 2013. Total passenger revenue during the quarter increased 8 percent to $1.12 billion. Consolidated traffic during the quarter increased 9.5 percent, and capacity increased 10.6 percent, contributing to a load factor of 83.4 percent, down 1 percentage point from 2013. Passenger revenue per available seat mile was down 2.4 percent, and yield was down 1.3 percent. For the full year 2014, Alaska's net income was $605 million, up 19 percent compared with 2013.
