AirPlus Debuts Automatic Carbon-Offset Feature

Universal Air Travel Plan issuer AirPlus International today announced the launch an automated carbon-offset feature, allowing corporate users to automatically pay the appropriate offset for any flight purchased through the payment tool.

With the feature, AirPlus sends flight data to a carbon-offset provider, which in turn calculates the amount necessary to offset emissions from the flights. The amount is automatically charged to the client's AirPlus account and fed into AirPlus' information management tool. Users can break down the data as desired, according to AirPlus.

The service, available globally, requires clients to sign one additional contract.
