In its final weekly Planner Confidence Index survey for
2020, i-Meet reports that for the week ended Dec. 20, 69 percent of 259 planner
respondents have a future face-to-face meeting or event contracted.
Respondents also reported that a majority expect to resume
in-person gatherings in the second half of 2021, with 30 percent in the third
quarter and 27 percent in the fourth quarter. This compares with just 6 percent
in the first quarter and 20 percent in the second quarter. Twelve percent
remain uncertain.
Forty-seven percent of respondents replied that they have new
requests for proposals in progress, with 27 percent for the third quarter and 25
percent for the fourth quarter; 22 percent are planned for the first half of
2021.
Of the corporate planner respondents, 65 percent said that
they already have events booked for 2021, but 25 percent said they had nothing
presently booked. This represents a significant change from last week's
results, when 54 percent had Q1 events booked and 36 percent had none.
