Sonesta International Hotels Corp. has introduced flexible cancellation policies for meetings and events due to the coronavirus outbreak, the company announced. Future meetings and events affected by Covid-19 now may terminate agreements without cost or liability.
To qualify, planners must provide written notice to the hotel at least five business days before the start of the event, or by May 31, 2020, whichever occurs first. This clause will remain available for all new contracts closed during this time, "as well as for bookings as far into the future as the group has interest."
In addition, the company has relaxed its cancellation policy for individuals. Effective immediately, Sonesta has issued a 4 p.m. day-of-arrival cancellation policy for individual reservations through June 15, 2020, at all of its U.S. properties.
