Green Meeting Industry Council Merges with Convention Industry Council

The Green Meeting Industry Council has ceased independent operations and will merge with the Convention Industry Council, GMIC announced in a webinar for members yesterday. GMIC will rely on CIC for operations, governance and staff and will focus on content development and education. GMIC individual and business members will transition to CIC individual supporters and sponsors, and local GMIC chapters will transition to supporter networks. According to the GMIC website, the group will formalize a leadership council in the next 45 days and will roll out its new structure within 90 days.
