Travel and spend
management platform Engine has added event management capabilities to its group
travel offering, the company announced.
The expanded Engine
Groups platform now offers a "self-serve" booking option for room
blocks, with "tailored" hotel recommendations. It also includes a
dedicated event page for attendees and a dashboard that gives organizers "real-time"
visibility into bookings and event registration. The update is aimed at both
corporate and leisure group travel bookings, according to the company.
Based on details
provided by the event organizer, including group size and location, the
platform can recommend whether the booking is best handled through the
self-serve route or by Engine's dedicated sourcing team, which can negotiate a
room block on the organizer's behalf.
For sourced bookings,
Engine creates an request for proposals and gathers hotel responses, the
company said. Once a room block is secured, attendees are
directed to reserve rooms via a dedicated link. Meeting space and event catering can also be added, with a dedicated
Engine trip manager supporting sourcing and logistics "at no additional
cost."
The expanded
capabilities are available to customers across all geographies, with Engine claiming
its hotel inventory is "available across most countries globally." Most
group bookings currently originate in the U.S. and Canada.
In the first half of
2026, more than 460,000 room nights were booked through Engine Groups, with
group room nights growing more than fivefold year over year, according to the
company.
