San Francisco-based meetings app
firm DoubleDutch, which introduced its Live Engagement
Platform earlier this week, has appointed Dave Simon chief revenue officer. Simon
joins DoubleDutch after two years as vice president of North American sales for
Oracle Marketing Cloud, following its acquisition of Responsys, where he was
the vice president of sales for North America. Chief revenue officer is a new
role at DoubleDutch designed to unify sales and account management divisions, according to CEO Lawrence Coburn, who said Simon's marketing cloud pedigree should signal the seriousness with which the app provider is approaching its marketing automation strategy. “It’s
a big bet for us,” Coburn told BTN. “We
think marketing automation and marketing journeys are the future of our world.”
