American Express Global Business Travel has launched a new agentic AI capability in its hotel sourcing consulting services that the travel management company said can shorten sourcing cycles and support year-round program optimization.
Amex GBT's Hotel Lobby uses AI agents to automate such tasks as cleansing data, calculating wish rates and validating requests for proposal, the TMC said. The agents work from data including negotiated rate benchmarks across thousands of properties around the world, hotel spend performance metrics and compliance trends among Amex GBT's clients.
With AI agents taking care of data preparation, clients have richer data at the onset of the sourcing cycle and can continue to monitor value year-round, according to Amex GBT.
"Hotel Lobby gives you the rigor of a full sourcing cycle and the speed to spend more time negotiating," Amex GBT director of consulting strategy Sara Andell said in a statement. "Our AI agents now handle the data work, compress sourcing cycles and free our consultants to focus on what actually drives savings, backed by rich proprietary travel data and years of consulting experience."
