Total travel to or within the U.S. grew 3 percent year over year in November, according to the U.S. Travel Association's Travel Trends Index. For domestic travel, strong consumer confidence prompted leisure travel to grow 3.4 percent, compared with business travel's 2.2 percent growth. Domestic travel combined grew 3 percent, while international inbound travel to the U.S. grew 3.8 percent. "Moving forward, continued, albeit moderating, growth is expected in the near term, with international travel likely to slow more than domestic," said USTA SVP of research David Huether.
