Travel and expense platform Travel Code has introduced a
module that shows loyalty point redemption options in the search process, the
company announced.
The module pulls in data from company-held airline point
balances, corporate card reward programs and employees' personal frequent-flyer
accounts to show point-booking options alongside airfares in the flight search.
If selected, the rewards option is booked through the individual program
account that owns the points.
Travel Code CEO Egor Karpovich said that clients often
grapple with accounts that amass large amounts of points without a clear
strategy to use them or are facing points that will soon expire. Putting points
in the search process gives them a chance to use them and add savings to the
program, he said.
"Every travel manager we talk to knows the points are
somewhere in the program," according to Karpovich. "Nobody has a
workflow that puts them in the flight search."
Among the sources of data for the rewards booking options
are award search engines Point.me and Seats.aero. Loyalty program management
service AwardWallet is a partner as well, providing live content and balances,
Karpovich said.
Travel Code has begun accepting enrollments for a free pilot
of the rewards booking module. Karpovich said the company is hoping to enroll a
company that spends at least 1 million points per month, which would
demonstrate the savings capabilities of having awards options available in
search. The company's typical customer small- and midsized client spends more
along the line of 1 million points per year, according to Karpovich.
