Advantage Travel Partnership head of business travel services and events Sonia Michaels and Festive Road consultant Louise Kilgannon have joined the leadership team of Level UK, which has rebranded from Level Women. The organization promotes gender balance in the U.K. business travel Industry. Festive Road managing partner Caroline Strachan, Traveldoo U.K. manager Sam Cande and SAP Concur global head of rail Ami Taylor founded the organization. Michaels and Kilgannon will lead Level UK with Cande and Taylor, while Strachan will step down from the leadership level. Level UK also has created an advisory board.
"When speaking to our industry colleagues, we realized that our previous name, Level Women, gave the impression that we were solely a group for and about women, when our aim is to be inclusive and involve everyone in this important conversation," said Taylor. "Change in organizations is expedited when it's led top down, and with men currently in the majority in senior ranks, educating and influencing them to help support gender balance in their organizations is critical to the success of our vision.
Strachan is scheduled to speak on Why Gender Equality Is Not Just About Women at TedXFolkstone in the U.K. on June 22.
