Navan Appoints Thrust Carbon's Corbett to Innovation Role

Mark Corbett, the former director and co-founder of sustainability intelligence platform Thrust Carbon, has joined Navan as its senior director of commercial innovation and strategy, a newly created role at the company, Navan announced.

A long-time entrepreneur, Corbett co-founded Thrust Carbon alongside Kit Aspen in 2019 and was featured among BTN's 25 Most Influential people in both 2022 and 2023. He's also previously worked as a youth mentor and coach and as a director at UK-based student tour operator AwesomeTrip.

At Navan, Corbett will focus on "delivering new revenue opportunities and efficiencies across the product offering," with an initial focus will on "optimising" Navan's Lodging Collection. He will also spearhead collaboration with "emergent third-party technologies and agentic providers, paving the way for real-world trials," the company added.

"Mark operates with the discipline and visionary thinking that Navan requires to dominate the T&E sector," said Navan chief customer officer Michael Riegel in a statement. "He understands how to scale complex software ecosystems while keeping the user experience at the center. His ability to turn sophisticated data into actionable commercial strategy will be a massive asset as we continue to lead the industry."

Commenting on his latest move, Corbett in a statement added: "There has never been a more exciting time to build intelligent systems rather than traditional tools… I'm thrilled to act as a 'disruptor from within' to bridge commercial strategy with a seamless user experience."
