Sustainability tracking software Scope 5 now can access Concur travel data in order to track air travel emissions. Mutual clients can opt in through the Concur App Center to allow Scope 5 to pull "raw activity data," including class of travel and airport origin and destination. Scope 5 calculates emissions using data from such authorities as the U.K. Department of Environment, Food & Rural Affairs; U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change; and World Resources Institute, a Scope 5 spokesperson explained. Scope 5 can track emissions for other modes of transportation, hotels and restaurants, but the Concur integration tracks only air travel, the spokesperson said, adding that the integration will incorporate rail, ferry and road data in the future.
