Bhart Sarin was elected as the president of the Global
Business Travel Association. The president presides at board meetings and supervises
association affairs. Sarin is the director of corporate and North America procurement
operations and travel at Ingredion. Elections for GBTA president, VP, two
direct members at large and two allied members were held Aug. 7 at GBTA's
annual convention.
Denise Truso was elected VP to preside at board meetings and
related committees if and when the president is not available. The VP is also a
member of GBTA's finance and budget committee. Truso is Abbott global
procurement category lead for travel, meetings and events.
Both were elected by GBTA direct members and will serve
two-year terms. Sarin was elected unopposed. Truso won over Jennifer Steinke, associate
director of global travel for PPD.
Rita Visser, Oracle director of global travel sourcing and global
procurement officer, and Gloria Gonzalez, Freeman director of travel and
meeting services, will serve as the new direct members at large. They each will
serve a three-year term.
GBTA allied members elected BCD Travel VP of global product strategy
Will Pinnell as the new allied member at large. He will serve a two-year term.
