American Express Global Business Travel appointed former
Sabre executive Rodolfo Elizondo as vice president and head of global business
consulting. Most recently Sabre's consulting division vice president and its practice
leader for e-commerce, sales and distribution, merchandising and customer
experience, Elizondo has more than 15 years of combined experience in travel,
hospitality and consulting, with previous positions at Mexicana Airlines, hotel
group Grupo Posadas and digital marketing firm McKinsey & Co. In his new
role, Elizondo will assist Amex GBT customers in third-party negotiations and
partnerships, travel program optimization and outsourced travel management. He reports
to Amex GBT chief global sales officer Christine Ourmieres-Widener. Elizondo
fills a role vacated by Caroline Strachan, who departed
Amex GBT earlier this year.
