Spanish travel and entertainment group Grupo Travel Live is broadening its use of AI automation technology Acai Travel following an initial phase within its corporate travel division, the companies announced.
The first phase began with travel management company Nautalia Empresas, with Acai streamlining corporate travel customer inquiries. That has brough "real improvements in service efficiency," Nautalia Empresas director of operations Rosa María Martín said in a statement.
"The AI Agent operates as an invisible co-pilot, supporting our teams and allowing them to focus on the traveler, not their inbox," she said.
Nautalia Empresas now is working with Acai to expand the project to automate recurring back-office processes. "We're building a hybrid model where people and artificial intelligence work side by side to increase speed, quality and our ability to scale at every customer touchpoint," Nautalia Empresas director Cecilio Martell said in a statement.
That will expand beyond Nautalia Empresas, covering leisure divisions as well with an agreement spanning Grupo Travel Live's full portfolio, the companies said.
Nautalia Empresas ranked as the fifth-largest TMC in Spain and the 17th largest in Europe in BTN Europe's most recent Europe's Leading TMCs report. In recent weeks, it was among four TMCs in Spain that was fined by Spain's Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia for alleged involvement in manipulation of contracts awarded by the Bank of Spain and Complutense University of Madrid.
