Hilton Worldwide has named former Uber and Amazon executive Jeff Moore as EVP and chief technology officer, the hotel company announced Tuesday.
Moore, who will report to Hilton president and CEO Christopher Nassetta, will be Hilton's first CTO. The company in a May filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said it was conducting an outside search to fill the position.
Moore most recently served as Uber's VP of software engineering, where Hilton said he led a team of 2,500 engineering supporting Uber for Business and Uber Eats, among others. He joined Uber in 2019 from Amazon, where he spent 11 years and served as director of product and engineering.
Nassetta in a statement said that Moore's "deep technical expertise, operating experience and customer focus will help us move faster, harness AI and next-generation technology, and continue playing a leadership role in shaping the future of hospitality."
Moore in a statement said he "was especially drawn to Hilton's ambition to harness AI and next-generation technology to reimagine the guest experience and empower team members."
