The average daily rate at Wyndham Worldwide hotels during
the first quarter decreased 2.3 percent year over year to $64.93, the company
reported Tuesday. First-quarter occupancy dropped to 48.6 percent from 49.4
percent last year. CFO Tom Conforti attributed the soft
results to poor performance in oil-producing markets in the United States and
Canada, foreign exchange rates and growth in markets where revenue per
available room was lower, such as China. Revenue for the hotel group increased 1
percent year over year to $295 million.
