Second-quarter
business transient bookings at North American hotels are up 3.7 percent from
this same time last year, according to TravelClick. ADR for the segment is also
up 4.5 percent. Committed occupancy for the group segment for the
second-quarter is near flat 0.1 percent higher than at this time last year,
while ADR is up 2.2 percent. For the next 12 months, business transient bookings
are down 0.8 percent, while ADR is up 2.7 percent. Group bookings are up 1.3
percent over this time last year, and ADR is up 2.8 percent. The February North
American Hospitality Review looks at group sales commitments and individual
reservations in the 25 major North American markets for hotel stays booked by
Feb. 1 for February 2017 to January 2018.
