OYO Hotels & Homes has appointed Rohit Kapoor as CEO for India and South Asia. He most recently was CEO of OYO's new real estate businesses, where he oversaw the growth of OYO Life, the company's long-term rental housing portfolio. Kapoor replaces Aditya Ghosh, who now is a member of the company's board of directors. During Ghosh's year in his previous position, he increased the Indian-based company's asset owner community from about 5,500 to more than 18,000, according to the company. OYO also recently named Betsy Atkins, founder and CEO of U.S.-based venture capital company Baja Corp., as an independent member of the board. Founded in 2013 with a single hotel, OYO now counts more than 1.2 million rooms in its portfolio. It announced a $300 million investment into the U.S. market in June. The company has received funding from several companies including Airbnb, SoftBank Vision Fund and Sequoia Capital.
