Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts has named Oliver
Bonke president and COO. Bonke will step into the position on Sept. 1 at the
company's headquarters in Hong Kong and will report to Shangri-La Asia Ltd. CEO
Lim Beng Chee. He will supervise the regional EVPs in charge of operations and
the division heads in charge of food and beverage, sales, marketing, rooms,
engineering, security and quality improvement. Bonke most recently served as chief
commercial officer of Loews Hotels and has held leadership roles at
InterContinental Hotels Group and Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
