Kempinski Hotels has decided to "part ways" with now-former CEO Martin Smura and named its COO of Europe, Bernold Schröder, as interim chairman and CEO, effective immediately, the company announced. The move comes about 18 months after Smura took the company reins on July 1, 2019. Schröder joined Kempinski in 2017. The company has 78 hotels and residences in 34 countries.
