IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a master development agreement with Sydney-based property developer Aland to launch its upscale extended-stay Staybridge Suites brand in Australia, IHG announced Thursday.
Operating with exclusive development rights, Aland will "build a significant national portfolio" of Staybridge Suites properties, according to IHG, beginning with at least 2,000 rooms across 15 hotels.
The first two franchise agreements include the 130-room Staybridge Suites Parramatta, located within a Sydney commercial center, and the 112-room Staybridge Suites Sydney Leppington, to be located near the Western Sydney International Airport.
Staybridge Suites currently has 355 open hotels in its portfolio and 152 in the pipeline, as of June 2026.
