IHG Hotels & Resorts unveiled its newest brand on
Tuesday, the 17th one in its portfolio. Dubbed the Vignette Collection, it will
be part of the company's luxury and lifestyle group.
"Our new Vignette Collection gives IHG a compelling way
to welcome world-class independent hotels into our brand family, combining each
property's distinctive identity with the power of our global scale," IHG
CEO Keith Barr said in a statement. He had noted the imminent announcement
during IHG's
second quarter earnings call earlier this month.
The first two hotels to join the collection will be the
Hotel X, in Brisbane, Australia's Fortitude Valley, and the Pattaya Aquatique in
Thailand, according to the company. IHG expects the new brand to attract more
than 100 properties over the next 10 years.
