The Caption by Hyatt lifestyle brand has launched within the upscale, select-service segment. The design appears to focus on travelers who desire more communal spaces and guest connections. Danny Meyer's Union Square Hospitality Group consulted on the food and beverage design and concept, a combination of cafe, market and bar. Hyatt Hotels Corp.'s three core promises for the brand are "alluring and approachable spaces," "conversation-worthy food and beverage" and "experiences that don't begin or end at the hotel's front door." Hyatt global head of development Jim Chu said, "We intend for the Caption by Hyatt brand to be a global growth driver domestically and internationally in dense urban markets, emerging neighborhoods and high-foot-traffic areas." Each property will have between 150 to 250 guest rooms, the food and beverage concept and a 24/7 fitness facility. Meetings space availability will vary by market.
