Hyatt Hotels Corp. has enacted a stricter cancellation
policy across its system for hotel reservations made or altered after Jan. 1.
Bookings canceled within 48 hours of a guest's stay will incur a fee.
The move is in line with policies established by Marriott
International and Hilton in 2017. Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamazian said in August
that 40 percent of the company's full-service hotels in the Americas already
have 48- or 72-hour cancellation policies.
