February Marked by Increases in ADR & Occupancy at U.S. Hotels

The U.S. hotel industry saw year-over-year gains in both occupancy and average daily rate during February. Occupancy rose 1.2 percent to 61.7 percent, while ADR increased 2.3 percent to $126.38. Among the 25 markets with the most hotel rooms, Minneapolis/St.Paul saw the largest year-over-year rise in ADR, 47 percent, and in occupancy, 13 percent, as a result of Super Bowl LII. Last year's Super Bowl host, Houston, experienced the most significant year-over-year decline in ADR, down 17.9 percent to $112.39. Seattle posted the largest drop-off in occupancy, down 7.5 percent to 67.6 percent.
