Choice Hotels International plans to add in 2026 a new top tier to its Choice Privileges loyalty program and will lower the amount of annual room nights required to attain other tiers, the company announced Tuesday.
After the changes take effect in "early 2026," according to Choice, the number of annual room nights required to earn Gold, Platinum or Diamond status each will decline by five nights from the current levels of 10, 20 and 40 nights, respectively.
The new top-tier status level, Titanium, can be achieved with 55 annual room nights and offers the ability to book one room for up to seven nights at more than 400 properties around the world "for just half the points," according to Choice.
"These changes are part of our continued journey to evolve Choice Privileges and reflect what travelers today expect from a modern loyalty program," Choice VP of loyalty Nandika Suri said in a statement.
Choice also said it would add "later in 2026" the ability to share loyalty points with friends and family, and for 2027 would allow status holders who do not requalify the following year by staying at a Choice property to lose only one tier of status instead of losing all status, a Choice spokesperson confirmed to BTN.
