Business transient and group bookings for the
next 12 months at North American hotels are down from this same time last year,
according TravelClick. "The advance-booking pace for March is
disappointing, especially considering the annual spring reservation bounce that
usually occurs during this time of year," said TravelClick senior industry
analyst John Hach. Business transient bookings are down 5.5 percent, while average
daily rate for the segment is up 2.8 percent. The group-booking pace is almost
flat at 0.3 percent, while ADR is up 3.1 percent. The March North American
Hospitality Review looks at group sales commitments and individual reservations
in the 25 major North American markets for hotel stays booked by March 1 for March
2017 to February 2018.
