TAP Air Portugal will boost its service from New York, Miami, Chicago and Washington, D.C., over the next year. In June, the carrier will add a second daily flight to Lisbon from John F. Kennedy International Airport and will add one flight per week between Newark and Porto to reach daily frequency on that route. On June 20, TAP also is making service daily between Lisbon and both Chicago and Washington by adding two weekly flights to each route. TAP will increase service between Miami and Lisbon by two weekly flights this winter and a third next summer, bringing its operation to 10 flights per week. That growth altogether will bring TAP's service to North America to 71 flights per week by next summer, more than quadruple the 16 transatlantic flights it had five years prior. TAP recently identified the U.S. as its third most important market in terms of revenue.
