Location and History
Situated on 2,700 beautiful, secluded acres off Route 100, this place is 20 minutes south of the ski mountain, yet still convenient to Stowe and the lifts.
Once the home of Maria von Trapp, (who was immortalized in The Sound of Music), her progeny still oversee the inn, and she is buried on the property. Captain von Trapp and six of the family's children are also buried here making the property somewhat of a pilgrimage for fans of the film.
