On a lovely bucolic plot, just 2 kilometers east of the ancient city walls, abutting vineyards, a long but pleasant 30-minute stroll from Piazza del Campo, this property occupies the oldest charterhouse in Tuscany.
Constructed in 1314—there are some 11th century ruins on the property—the lion's share of the hotel has been carved out of the rustic but picturesque monastery, complete with a distinct belltower.
