Set on the banks of the Douro, on the east side of the Arrabida Bridge, a short five-minute taxi ride to the old city, and overlooking the river toward Vila Novia and its Cliffside competitor, The Yeatman, this former palace beautifully blends mid-18th-century architecture with a subdued contemporary aesthetic. Since it is not in the heart of the city action, a free shuttle takes guests into town on a set schedule several times per day.
