Two blocks north of the Seine, near the Trocadero, with great views of the Eiffel Tower on the Rive Gauche, this 1896 limestone palace is making a valid effort to challenge the deluxe stalwarts—Le Meurice, Plaza Athenee, Park Hyatt Vendome—for the top echelon of international travelers.
