In its namesake Alfama neighborhood and near St. George's Castle, this hotel packs a punch with local character and style. In a historic building dating back to the 15th century, the compact property is limited on amenities, but the staff goes out of its way to please. Expect exposed stone and wooden surfaces and plenty of Romanesque heritage from its previous tenants centuries ago.
