On the northwest side of the city, planted in a tiny suburb near the airport, a 30-minute taxi, bus or tram ride from the Duomo and Uffizi, this regional star, a Starhotels affiliate, lies adjacent to a peppy Hilton Garden Inn and easily bests it.
A product of the 1960s, the owners have updated the building, giving it international standing, though the location is certainly best left to business travelers and air crews.
