Location and History
Along the eastern end of Princes Street and within immediate proximity to Waverley train station, this is a lively midrange hotel not far from the Royal Mile. Dating back to the 1800s, this was the first purpose-built hotel in the city, although the interiors are unrecognizable compared with centuries ago. Among the hotel's most notable guests was author Charles Dickens.
