Three blocks north of the Chicago River, on Michigan Avenue in the midst of Magnificent Mile shopping, this is one of the most impressive historic hotels in the city, though the 1929 Executive Tower (the former Historic Tower) is linked to the much less impressive Grand Tower, built in 1961.
Built by the Shriners as the Medinah Athletic Club, this place is a tourist attraction all its own, with sightseers occasionally rubbernecking through the public areas...
