The lodging industry reported mostly negative year-over year figures in all four regions of the world in November
, according to Smith Travel Research Global. Occupancy and average daily rates in the Americas declined 10.2 percent to 52.6 percent and 3.3 percent to $102.52, respectively. Asia-Pacific posted negative results in occupancy (12.8 percent to 66.7 percent) and ADR ( 5.7 percent to $130.25) as well; Europe followed suit with declines in occupancy (9.1 percent to 63.2 percent) and ADR (9.1 percent to $129.79); lastly, occupancy in the Middle East dropped 3.7 percent to 74.9 percent, but ADR jumped 11 percent to $174.99.
