The federal government plans to add thousands of hotel properties to its FedRooms program for 2007
, according to The Federal Times. The newspaper said additional Intercontinental Hotels Group and Hilton properties would boost the total to 4,500 from 1,200 last year. According to the program's Web site, 2,500 hotels currently are included. Administered by Carlson Wagonlit Travel, FedRooms is "the only government-wide, GSA-sponsored hotel program" open to all federal travelers, according to program information. "All FedRooms rates are accurately loaded into global distribution systems and are guaranteed to be at or below per diem."
