The average daily rate for U.S. hotels in July fell more than 9 percent year over year for a fifth consecutive month, according to STR
. The 9.1 percent reduction, to $97.18, marked a tenth straight month overall of declining ADR. Smith Travel Research also reported a 7.3 percent cut in U.S. hotel occupancy during July, to 64.1 percent.
