The average daily rate at U.S. hotels in August increased 5.4 percent year over year to $118.49, the highest monthly percentage increase since January 2008,
according to STR. Occupancy increased 3.8 percent to 71.6 percent. ADR increased in all of the top 25 U.S. markets and was up double-digit percentages in seven of those markets: Nashville (12.7 percent to $114.22), Seattle (12.6 percent to $163.83), San Francisco (12.1 percent to $229.10), Los Angeles (11.1 percent to $164.05), Denver (10.3 percent to $116.90), Boston (10 percent to $179.56) and Minneapolis (10 percent to $113.90).
