The average daily rate at Hyatt Hotels Corp. properties increased by 1.6 percent year over year during the first quarter,

the company reported on Wednesday. In the Americas, ADR was up 3.6 percent at full-service properties and up 3.9 percent at select-service properties. ADR was down 3.6 percent in the Asia/Pacific region and by 2.5 percent in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Southwest Asia. Global occupancy increased by 0.5 percentage points to 68.8 percent. Net income for the quarter was $8 million, down from $10 million in the first quarter of 2012.
