Starwood Hotels and Resorts reported an increased occupancy rate of 68.1 percent during the fourth quarter,
up from 66.4 percent in the same period of 2013. The average daily rate dipped slightly to $175.45 from $175.84. Annual year-over-year figures for 2014 showed an improved occupancy rate of 70.1 percent, up from 68.0 percent, and an increased ADR of $175.64, up from $172.58. Though the company posted a quarterly net income of $234 million, an 82 percent increase from 2013, its annual net income held almost even at $633 million, down from $635 million in 2013.
