Rates at Choice Hotels International properties increased by 1.9 percent year over year during the third quarter
of 2011, and rates were up at
all Choice brands except Clarion, where they dipped slightly. The highest rate increases
were found in Choice's upscale Ascend Collection (3.6 percent) and Comfort Inn
(3.1 percent). Choice's occupancy increased by 2 percentage points to 63.2
percent. Net income for the quarter was $42.3 million, up 4 percent from the
third quarter of 2010.
