Lanyon Unveils Tool To Target Rate Squatting
Travel technology firm Lanyon this month added a new feature to its Rate Integrity Suite to combat rate squatting. The company's Reverse Audit program identifies hotels outside a preferred program that offer a negotiated rate and automatically generates an email to the non-preferred hotel to request removal of the rate. "Eliminating non-preferred or 'squatting' hotels reduces confusion for travelers, as well as prevents the dilution of room nights at preferred hotels, thus ensuring stronger negotiating power," said vice president of global distribution services Dan Wiser.
