Hotel rate and occupancy growth across all travel segments in major North American markets continues into the first quarter of 2015,
according to the February TravelClick North American Hospitality Review. Overall, average daily rate is up 4.3 percent year over year and reserved occupancy is up 1.2 percent. In the group segment, ADR is up 3.0 percent and occupancy is up 1.8 percent. Transient business experienced the largest hike in ADR, 5.2 percent, while reserved occupancy improved only 0.3 percent. For the year, transient business ADR is up 6.4 percent and occupancy is up 2.1 percent. The February NAHR examines group sales commitments and individual reservations in 25 major markets for hotel stays booked by Feb. 1, 2015 for the period of February 2015 to January 2016.
