Hilton Worldwide this week announced an agreement with
AT&T to provide and manage its wireless Internet offerings across the
United States and Canada.
Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will provide
wireless and wired connectivity across a common platform at more than 3,200
Hilton properties throughout the region. Hilton said a common Internet platform
would make it more convenient for guests to access Internet in their rooms,
meeting areas and public spaces.
Hilton in 2005 introduced
its "Stay Connected" program, which sought to standardize Internet
services throughout its brands. AT&T already provided Hilton with network
equipment and design and installation services as a part of that program.
AT&T now will begin to take over all management and support functions
across Hilton's U.S. and Canada portfolio, including guest support, network
engineering and network monitoring.
